Yours is the only email that I signed up for and continue to read. I am continuing to grow in the practice of contemplative prayer. Last week, I shared the practice of listening prayer with my Sunday school class of 1st-5th graders. I am one of 4 teachers that rotate through, sharing the class time with a main teacher. The students regularly practice listening prayer, but I wanted to share the why's behind the spiritual disciplines we have to draw nearer to Jesus. I was never taught the why (relationship) for the things I was told I needed to do to be a "good Christian." I want them to have the freedom from rules and religion by knowing the why's and how's of the spiritual disciplines, so that they can have a true, loving and growing relationship with Jesus. Thank you again for sharing your heart and spiritual practices with us!

Celia, as always, your writing focuses on my need in the moment.

As I started reading this post a few hours ago, and I'm just now finishing it, you can imagine my morning has been all sorts of jumbled. What a joy to come back to it at this moment right after lunch and choose to breathe, freshly and freely through contemplative prayer.
